It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Gaylene Ann DeVito of Shelby, Ohio, who passed away on February 23, 2025, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Gale Reidel and Gladys Reidel (Coover); and her sister Jeanette. She is survived by: her children, Sally Houk, Jean McKenzie, Dave DeVito (Christine) and Julie Butler (Michael); her grandchildren, Ray Houk (Dawn), Lisa Lopez, Heather Engel (Chris), Salvatore DeVito (Grace), R. J. DeVito (Anina), Michael Albert (Alicen), Heidi McKenzie, Nick DeVito (Jenny), Andy DeVito (Abby) and Danny DeVito (Ashley); her great grandchildren, Quinn, Qunicy, Sean, Sara, Michael, Cash, Alivia, Elle, Liam, Owen, Addy, Aidan, Ella and Blakley; her sister-in-law Susan Shell (Tub); her husband Salvatore A. "Sal" DeVito; her son Roger DeVito; and her son-in-law Robert Houk. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Penwell Funeral Home (168 W Main St, Shelby, OH 44875). A rosary will be held on Friday, February 28th 2025 at 7:00 PM at the same location. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 at 11:30 AM at the Most Pure Heart of Mary Catholic Church (29 West St, Shelby, OH 44875).
