He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Martin and Arlene Winifred Hench (Livesay); his son Carl Hench; and his grandmother Stella Mitchell. He is survived by: his cousin Allen Hench of Clyde. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

The family also asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the activity fund at Signature Healthcare of Galion, 935 Rosewood Avenue, Galion, OH 44833.
