She was predeceased by: her parents, Merle McCormic and Charlotte McCormic (Cox); her husband Gene Gates; her sisters, Grace "Pat" Cox and Treva Smith; her brothers-in-law, Gerald Cox and Ben Smith; and her nephew John Smith.
She is survived by: her former husband Eugene Gates of Shelby; her nephew Jerry Cox (Betty) of Shelby; and her nieces, Jane Smith of Plymouth and Trudy Fraley (Ronnie) of Wakeman. She is also survived by great nephews, a great niece and their children.
