He was predeceased by: his parents, Glade Glen and Clara Iva Hammett (Boterf); his wife Velma Hammett (Lawson); his son Jeffrey; and his siblings, Wayne "Gene" Hammett and Irene Day.
He is survived by: his children, Gene Hammett (Stacey) of Loganville, GA and Melanie Milks (Lonny) of Mansfield; his grandchildren, Danika, Bailee, Griffin Hammett, Megan Clay (Nick), Kayla Owings (Ross), McKenna Milks and Nick Milks (Alexis); his great grandchildren, Alessia, Carter and Karsyn; his sister Marlene Stajduhar of Winlock, WA; and his daughter-in-law Marina Hammett of Shelby. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
