He was predeceased by: his parents, William R. Emery and Geraldine K. Emery; and his wife Cheryl Emery. He is survived by: his son Will Emery of Sheffield Village; his sister Sharon L. Emery of Avon Lake; his nieces, Beth Doane and Margaret Maurer; and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Nathan Ahren, Madelin Ahren, Mitchell Maurer and Claire Maurer.
