He was predeceased by: his wife Sarah Christine Box; his son Del "Buster" Sharpless; his grandsons, Benjamin Biskie and John Sharpless; his siblings, Lewis, Charlie, George, Luther, Odis, Grady Box, Eva, Edith and Era; and his parents, Wesley Box and Pearl Box.
He is survived by: his children, Perry, Jr. (Joy), Allen (Maureen), Mark (Dorothy), David (Sandy), Della Bombac, Jackie (Paul Hollars) and Sarah (Jim Werczynski); and his sisters, Elva Cucunato of Alabama and Edna Hill of Alabama. He is also survived by twenty-two grandchildren; many great grandchildren.
