He was loved and cherished by many people including: his spouse Crispina Richey; his children, Rita Benza (Glenn) and Yvonne Bostian (Eric); his grandchildren, Dominic, Kaitlyn, Gina and Angelina; his great grandchild Kaedyn; and his siblings, Carter Asher and Taft Asher.

Memorials may be made in honor of Wheeler to the Alzheimer's Association.
