He was predeceased by: his parents, Lucius Hall Cooley and Grace Bailey Cooley; his brothers, Lucius B. Cooley and George Cooley; and his grandson Jacob Cooley.
He is survived by: his wife Joan Cooley (Geiss); his children, Dale S. Cooley (Linda), Roger Cooley (Paula) and Suzy Romaine (John); his grandchildren, Zachary Cooley (Ymisia), Kaley Cooley (Christian Smith-Misja), Ben Cooley (Breyann Stevens), Cameron Romaine, Cara Romaine and Chase Romaine; and his great grandchild Stevie Lee Cooley (Harper Rae Smith-Misja). He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
