He was predeceased by: his parents, Russel H. Hewit and Martha E. Hewit (Hoff); and his brothers, Russel'Cy'Hewit and Thomas Hewit. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Hewit (Beatty); his children, Melissa'Missy'Smith of Alexandria, Virginia, Adam (Jody Hewit) and Ashley (Jason Bowman); his stepchildren, Donald Bradford of Seville and Kimberly Bradford of Seville; and his siblings, Rick (Kathy Hewit) and Kathleen (Phil Reining).
