He was predeceased by: his wife Catherine; and his parents, William Alec and Mattie JoAnn Holder. He is survived by: his children, Loretta Ann Martin (Charles), Helen Holder, Richard Holder (Catherine), John Elersich, Andrew Martin, Dannette Grant, Tess Goulette, Ashley Ferrell, Elizabeth Shimp, Jon Paul Shimp, Jared Holder, Christian Shimp and Jennifer Holder; and his sisters, Nora Wood and Dora Williams.
