He was predeceased by: his father James Gerdau; his siblings, Jimmy and Mary; his parents-in-law, James and Annette Taylor; and his brother-in-law Allan Skeslock.
He is survived by: his mother Betty Gerdau (Evans) of Cambridge; his wife Margaret "Marge" Neff Gerdau (Taylor); his children, Herbie Gerdau of Cambridge, Andrew Gerdau of Roseville and Kristy Raymond (Caleb) of Cambridge; his stepson James Neff (Whitney) of Cambridge; his siblings, Harry Gerdau (Diane) of Middletown, Terri Schuetz (Bob) of Beckley, WV and Becky Skeslock of Pleasant City; his siblings-in-law, Richard Taylor (Margaret) of Knoxville, Anne Worth (Malcolm) of Xenia and Rosemary Burkhead (Rick) of Senecaville; his close friends, Mark Baker and Clint Clary; and his pets, Maxxie and Cindy. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.
As an expression of sympathy, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made in Herbert's name to the Cambridge Cancer Center, 1410 Clark Street, Cambridge OH 43725.
