He was predeceased by: his father Ottis Riggs; his siblings, Edna Mergenthaler and Ottis J. Riggs; and his siblings-in-law, John Smith, Joe Huff, Jim Ulman, Sue Gelmini and Vera Buffington.
He is survived by: his wife Norina M. Riggs; his sons, Ronald E. Riggs Jr. (Dana), Gary L. Riggs and Nicholas Riggs (Amy); and his sisters, Debbie Davis, Elaine Morrow (Sean) and Peggy Wright. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, and extended family.
