He is survived by: his wife Edith Nichols (Estes); his sons, Vernon Dale Nichols, Jr. of Blue Creek and Anthony Wayne Nichols of Seaman; and his sister Juanita Ely of Williamsburg, Ohio.. He is also survived by his twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
