The passing of Lucille M. Grooms of Seaman, Ohio, born in Milford, Illinois leaves a void in the hearts of many, as we bid farewell to a loving soul who departed on October 25, 2024 at the age of 96. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Charles and Harriette Grace Newman; her husband Richard Grooms (Pete); her siblings, Raymond Newman, Ruth Storer and Russell Newman; and her grandson Mark Grooms.
She is survived by: her children, Larry D. Grooms (Sue Edwards), James R. Grooms (Tamara), Michael S. Grooms (Charlene) and Dee Ann Stricklett. She is also survived by five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, a number of nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as a host of friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the West Union Church of Christ (270 Lloyd Rd, West Union, OH 45693). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Wednesday, October 30th 2024 at the West Union Cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to West Union Church of Christ – Food for Kids, a program to provide weekend meals to West Union elementary and junior high students.
