With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Wendell Lewis of Seaman, Ohio, who passed away on March 4, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though James Wendell may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those James Wendell touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Gillespie Lewis and Lourena Lewis (Pell); his former wife Marie Dorothy Lewis (McGuire); his daughter Lisa Brown; his siblings, Warren Lewis, George Lewis, Lawrence Lewis and Joan Bernstein; and his grandsons, John Edward and Shane Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Loretta Lewis (McDaniel). He is also survived by his fifteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Lewis-Sullivan Funeral Home (18029 OH-247, Seaman, OH 45679). A funeral service was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:15 PM at the Moores Chapel Cemetery (2525 Wintersteen Run Rd, Blue Creek, OH 45616).
