She was predeceased by: her mother Sarah Smith (Shonkwiler); her former husband Harold Ockerman; her father Rev. James Smith; her siblings, Robert (Maggie), Betty (Kenneith), Nettie and Patti (Gene); her son Steven; her son-in-law Jerry Claxon; and her brother-in-law Harry Ockerman.
She is survived by: her husband John Lemaster; her siblings, James L. Smith (Reina) and Barbara Ockerman; her children, Margaret Claxon and Richard Ockerman; and her grandchildren, Sarah Goodenough (Jerrie), Mary Hayes (Billy), Melissa Koch (John), Katie Smith (Justin), Adam Ockerman (Lacey), Erin Holston (Anthony), Walter Ockerman (Becca) and Nathan Ockerman. She is also survived by 16 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at the Brant Funeral Service (422 Harding Ave, Portsmouth, OH 45662). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 at 12:30 PM at the Old Wheelersburg Cemetery (12100 Gallia Pike, Portsmouth, OH 45662).
Family requests memorial contributions be made in Mary's memory to: The Children's Heart Foundation or any children's hospital.
