He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence and Dorothy Byers; and his son Jerome. He is survived by: his children, Jeffrey (Connie) of Westminster, Joyce Veppert (Chuck) of Rootstown and Jennifer Woit (Guy) of Salem; his grandchildren, Jason (Lisa), Chris (Becky), Sarah (Tom), Michael, Courtney (Mike), Christopher and Shelby; his stepmother Helen Thompson; and also Vivian Thompson.
