He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn Hughes; his parents, Delbert R. Hughes Sr. and Zula Foster Hughes; his siblings, John, Richard A. Hughes and Sandy Lockwood; and his brother-in-law Fred Mead.
He is survived by: his children, Timothy Hughes (Tammy), Amy Teegarden (Gene) and Lisa Hughes (Steve McQueen); his grandchildren, Abby Gabbard (Kasey), Taylor Lincoln (Woody), Lauren Schafer, Megan Armstrong, Stephanie McQueen, Brittany Peeno and Brandon Walden; his sisters, Lucy Mead and Kay Hughes; his sister-in-law Linda Lipps (Al); and his pets, Bailey and Maggie.
