The memory of Von Dale Prater of Sardinia, Ohio, born in West Liberty, Kentucky, who passed away on September 26, 2024 at the age of 77, will forever remain in the hearts of those touched by this precious presence in their lives. Though Von may no longer walk beside us, his memory will forever be enshrined in the fabric of the lives of those Von touched, a beacon of light guiding us through the darkness. In his absence, his spirit lives on — a gentle whisper in the breeze, a ray of sunlight on a cloudy day, a reminder that love knows no boundaries.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Prater and Virgie Ellen Prater (Nickell). He is survived by: his wife Barbara Prater of Sardinia; his son Junior Dale Prater of Sardinia; his sisters, Deloris Polley (Michael) of Cincinnati, Vicky Hayslip (John) of Davenport, FL and Eleen Smalley (Wayne) of Peebles; and his granddaughter Chelsea Welch of Georgetown. He is also survived by 2 great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Monday, September 30th 2024 at 3:00 PM at the Kirker Cemetery (632 Rice Dr, West Union, OH 45693).
Memorial contributions may be made to the Ohio Veterans Home or Hospice of Hope Ohio Valley.
