He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur F. Purdy and Estella Hopkins Purdy; his siblings, Wilmer Purdy and Cleo F. Purdy; his half-siblings, Floyd Purdy, Virgina Purdy Lauch, Vivian Purdy Cochran, Sarah Purdy Turner and Bea Purdy Wiederhold; his sister-in-law Juree Burns; and his granddaughter Robin Marie Purdy.
He is survived by: his wife Roberta Sheeler Purdy of Decatur, Ohio.; his children, Andrew Purdy (Sandra) of Sardinia, Joseph Purdy (Lori) of Sardinia and Lesa Wood (Edward) of Georgetown; his sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Karambellas of Winchester and Shirley Gast (Omar) of South Webster; and his grandchildren, Ashlee Scheadler (Cory), Kyle Purdy (Kim), Randal McClimans (Todd), Rhett Purdy (Alisha), Kaylee Vogelsang (Erich), Kendall Purdy (Jessica), Emilee Wood (Mark Persaud), Cynthia Johnson (Hank) and Laura Wood. He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
