He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Truman and Carol Beatrice Riddle Butts; his wife Mary Carolyn Butts; his great grandchildren, Addison Bogan and Andrew Ford; and his siblings, David, Clarence, Robert, Harlan Butts, Ruth Wolfgram and Esther Lawson.
He is survived by: his children, Barbara Spurlock (Henry) of Witchita, KS, Debra Hollon (Chad) of Blanchester, Sandra Ford (Mick) of Hillsboro, Jon Butts (Lisa) of Sardinia and Sara Carruthers (Rodney) of Wilmington. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, and 25 great-grandchildren.
