He was predeceased by: his parents, Ottis O. Shafer and Thelma M. Robinson Shafer; and his siblings, Waneta Myers and Delman Shafer. He is survived by: his wife Evelyn L. Goodwill Shafer; his children, Dennis L. Shafer (Marilyn) of Caldwell, Jennifer F. Mann (Michael) of Tuscarawas and Bryon N. Shafer (Dianne) of Chagrin Falls; and his sister Leah Paulette Bates of North Canton. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren.
