He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Coffey and Virginia Lee Coffey; his sister Virginia Anne Coffey; and his grandparents, Arthur, Carrie Hindley (White), Matt and Beale Coffey (Ferguson).

He is survived by: his children, Melissa Coffey Chaney of Sandusky, Amelia Coffey of Sandusky, Melinda Coffey of Lakewood and Brian Coffey (Rose) of Avon Lake; his grandchildren, Courtney Chaney, Victoria Reed, Katherine Coffey, Kordell Chaney, Christopher Coffey and Camden Prophet; and his brother Allen Coffey (Barb) of Norwalk.
