She was predeceased by: her parents, Jerry Franklin and Mary Ellen Shafter (Bartlett); and her sister Geraldine N. "Jeri" Shafer. She is survived by: her sons, Ron Harkness (Angela) of Columbus, OH and Keith Gildenmeister (Shelly) of Vickery, OH; and her siblings, Robert F. Shafer (Jonnie), Susan Volmer (Lee), Vicki Shafer, Rick Shafer (Kathy) and Julie Marsinko (Mike). She is also survived by five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Humane Society of Erie County, 1911 Superior Street, Sandusky, OH 44870.
