He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert William and Betty Jane McDowell, Sr. (Kautz); and his sister Janice E. Logar (McDowell). He is survived by: his wife Rosemary A. McDowell (Polta); his children, JanMarie Miller (McDowell) of Castalia and William "Rob" McDowell (Becky) of Naperville, IL; his grandchildren, Abbygail, Olivia, Braxton, Ethan, Hailey, Madeline and Penelope; and his brother David McDowell (Deb) of Sandusky. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Due to the health concerns with the COVID-19 a DRIVE-BY visitation will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2020 from 10 am until 2 pm at the M & M Boarding Kennel, 5705 Campbell Street, Sandusky.
The family suggest that memorial contributions be made in his memory to ones local Police Department K-9 Unit Fund.
