He was predeceased by: his parents, Mae Elizabeth Giltner Hughes and Robert Ellsworth Hughes; his brother Charles Evan Hughes; his former wife Dorothy Jean; his half-siblings, Gerald Emmett Law (Betty) and Ilda Tindall; and his former wife Carol L. McIntyre Hughes.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ruth Hedrington-Hughes of Sandusky, Ohio; and his sisters-in-law, Bonnie Gullickson, Janice DeWitz and Judy Elliott (Marv). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
