He was predeceased by: his mother Mary Ann Sloan. He is survived by: his sons, Ralph Jr. and Stephen Richard; his grandchildren, Amanda Sloan and Michael Scott Sloan; his sisters, Carol Ann Laurel (Gene) and Beanie Smith; and also Carrie "Frannie" Rodd.
