We bid farewell to Peggy C Scherer of Sandusky, Ohio, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on April 25, 2025 at the age of 101. Peggy touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Hugo Schaufelberger and Leonara Schaufelberger (Horn); her husband John C. Scherer; her son Andrew; her brother Hugo Schaufelberger; her son-in-law Jamie Rausch; and her in-laws, Effie and Henry Scherer.
She is survived by: her children, Linda Scherer of Sandusky, Gregg, Molly McCarragher-Scherer of Sun Prairie, WI and Leah Scherer Rausch of Vermilion; her grandchildren, Nikki, Kristi Scherer of Sun Prairie, WS, Jeremy Rausch (Amanda) of Norwalk and Joshua Rausch (Kimberly) of Huron; her cousins, Carol Mulvin, Shirley Cooper and Kathleen Hansken; and her close friends, Bill Tordi, Richard Prenzlin and Becky Lance. She is also survived by 2 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Catholic Church (429 Central Ave, Sandusky, OH 44870). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, April 30th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
