He was predeceased by: his wife Arlene E. White; his parents, Herman C. Mettert and Ethel C. Miller (Mettert); his son Randall C. Mettert; his stepfather James T. Miller; and his sisters, Evelyn Box, Pauline Hartman, Patricia Swanson and Maralyn Long.
He is survived by: his children, Ronald P. Mettert (Alice) of Nalcrest, FL, Kathy J. Schenk (Steven) of Huron and Jeffrey L. Mettert (Ellen) of Sandusky; his daughter-in-law Cindy Mettert (Flood) of Vermilion; and his close friend Joan Kessler of Sandusky. He is also survived by 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Paul's name to The Sad Sacks Nursing Scholarship Fund c/o AMVETS Post 17, or the VFW Post 2529 Auxiliary Cancer Fund.
