It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lillie Garrett Maxie (Sandusky, Ohio), born in Alpine, Alabama, who passed away on December 30, 2022, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Gustava M. Garrett Sr. and Mattie B. Garrett (Riggins); her husband George D. Maxie; her grandson Derrick D. Dickey; her brothers, Bobbie L. Garrett, Sr., Dwight Swain and Gustava M. Garrett, Jr.; and her caregivers, Cheryl Williams, Karen Williams, Kenney, Maxie and Shantae Fryson.
She is survived by: her children, Robert G. Garrett and LaJune James; her grandchildren, Stephen K. Garrett, Darrin Garrett, Brian Garrett, Deitra, Jeneshia, Lauren, Jared, Brenna, Chantel, Bail, Imagine and Elise; and her great grandchildren, Camden and Amari. She is also survived by Nephews and Nieces.
