He was predeceased by: his former wife Sandra Lee Knapp; his parents, Eugene Knapp and Thelma Knapp; his brother Jack Knapp; and his stepbrother Michael McCabe.
He is survived by: his wife Lavern Knapp of Sandusky; his children, Larry Knapp, Jr. (Kahdija) of Oberlin, Ricky Knapp (Janie) of Vermilion and Tammy Law (Mark) of Louisville, KY; his grandchildren, Adam, Alexander, Joshua (Gwen), Meagan (Cameron), Scott, Crystal (Andrew), Christopher (Kristie) and Brent; his siblings, Garry Knapp (Ann) of Las Vegas, NV, Eugene Knapp (CiCi) of Dover, DE and Denese Hosack (Ron) of Smyrna, TN; and his stepsiblings, Wanda Difusco, Florence Randall of Albion, PA and Brent McCabe (Karen) of Bloomington, IN. He is also survived by many extended family and friends.
