He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Schatz and Lena Schatz (Ehrhardt); his wife Mildred Irene Schatz (Sharp); and his sisters, Helen Miller, Marian Shadle, Lois Weis and Merle Williams.
He is survived by: his children, Sandie Wilson of Frederick, MD and Gary Schatz (Eva) of Mineral, VA; and his grandchildren, Charles Wilson (Sherry), Kristin Raker (Ken), Laura Crim (Ryan), Carl Schatz, Ingrid Lahmann (Ed) and Lena Schatz. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
