We are sad to announce that on March 21, 2022, at the age of 72, James Richard Ernst Sr. of Sandusky, Ohio, born in Toledo, Ohio passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rolland James and Mary Ann Ernst (McElroy); his daughter Sara "Sissy" Ernst; and his brother Tom Ernst. He is survived by: his wife Debra S. Ernst (Cody); his family, James R. Ernst, Jr. of Sandusky, Trisha Ernst of Sandusky, Timothy Ernst (Jennifer) of Sandusky and Brian Ernst of Sandusky; his grandchildren, Patrick, Samantha, Elijah, Alison, Kadon, Ianna, Jonah, Malachi, Maxton and Brittany; his stepgranddaughter Haley; and his friends, Daryl "Dee" Myers and Michael Alexander. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in his name to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
