She was predeceased by: her parents, Hester Thompson and Alice Thompson; her husband Robert S. Russell, Sr.; her children, Gloria Wood (Russell), Tony Smith, Clifton Russell and Robert Russell, Jr.; and her grandchildren, Felecia Ann McGill and Ferrail K. Parker.

She is survived by: her children, Jo Cynthia Keels of Sandusky, Elder Gwendolyn Moorer, Barbara Parker (Kenneth Parker) of Columbus, Evangelist Gail M. Tate of Euclid, Minister Howard Carr (Sherron) of Sandusky and Hortense Miller-Woods (Cookie); her siblings-in-law, Arthur Russell of Philadelphia, PA and Carole Sherman; her daughter-in-law Melanie Wright Russell; her cousin Arlene Nelson of Las Vegas, Nevada; and her adoptive son Darwitt Garrett of Sandusky. She is also survived by 33 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; 30 great-great grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
