He was predeceased by: his parents, Ennis Mickens and Helen Mickens (Masten); his brothers, Alan and Keith; and his nephew Michael.
He is survived by: his sister Nancy Melching (John); his son Brian; and his close friend Anita Mickens. He is also survived by nieces and cousins.
