He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Fitzthum and Anna Fitzthum (Kieffer); his former wife Geraldine C. Fitzthum (Engel); his wife Elaine E. Fitzthum (Mapus); his son Brad G. Fitzthum; and his siblings, Mary Louise Snowden, Joseph and John Fitzthum.

He is survived by: his children, Colleen M. Wolf of Sandusky, Robert Fitzthum (Sue) of Wichita, KS, Eugene F. "Dusty" Fitzthum, Jr. (Donna) of Sandusky, James E. Fitzthum (Diane) of Sandusky and Barry G. Fitzthum (Tana) of Amboy, WA; and his siblings, Helen Schiffel, Barbara Fitzthum and George Fitzthum (Rosemary). He is also survived by seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren.

The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his memory to one's favorite charity.
