He was predeceased by: his parents, Clark Jones and Willie Mae Jones (Tinksley); his wife Emily Louise Jones (Baxley); and his daughters, Gloria Jean Jones, Yvonne Lawson and Janet Jones.

He is survived by: his children, Earnest Jones, Jr. (Jeanne), Tony B. Jones, Rickey Jones, Kennedy Michael Jones, Vickie Ritchie and Jermaine Jones. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; two brothers; a sister; and numerous nieces, nephews.
