She was predeceased by: her parents, Gustave A. Kapanke and Augusta Julia Kapanke (Dircks); her husband Earl R. Hammond; and her siblings, Esther H. Fix, Laurene Schwab, Hilda A. Lamprecht, Clarence W. and Herbert L. Kapanke. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made in her memory to the Earl and Dorothy Hammond Scholarship Fund, c/o Sandusky City Schools, 407 Decatur Street, Sandusky, OH 44870; Zion Lutheran Church, 503 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky, OH 44870; or to one's favorite charity.
