Doris A. McGookey Obituary
We bid farewell to Doris A. McGookey (Sandusky, Ohio), whose journey of life gracefully concluded on March 12, 2025 at the age of 94. Doris touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Gilbert Steinen and Thelma Steinen (Galloway); and her husband Harry. She is survived by: her children, James McGookey (Anne) of Sandusky, OH, Dr. Patrick McGookey (Kim) of Cape Coral, FL., Dan McGookey (Bev) of Sandusky, OH and Gail Stoy (Frank) of Columbus; her grandchildren, Ryan McGookey, Leigh Johnson (Kevin), Lauren Gulley (Brian), Beth Ferguson (Kody), Michael McGookey (Alivia), Caroline DeMario (Chris), Ellen Bartolett (Tim), Thomas McGookey, Nick Maschari (Kelly) and Kurt Maschari (Jen); and her close friends, Jackie Powell, Terri Alexander and Johna Warner. She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church (510 Columbus Ave, Sandusky, OH 44870). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, March 15th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
