He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Palmer and Mabel Palmer (Canterbury); his wife Betty Palmer (Royal); and his brothers, Bob Palmer, Bill Palmer and Donald Palmer.

He is survived by: his children, Pam Pittman (Steve) of Newark, OH and Paul Palmer of Knoxville, TN; his sister Doris Hayes of Twinsburg, OH; and his grandchildren, Alyssa and Hanna Pittman. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
