He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Owen "Sonny" and Mary Alice "Peach" Appell (Pietschman); his grandson Weston J. Vassallo; his brothers-in-law, Tony Dellisanti and Don McKone; and his niece Molly Flowers.
He is survived by: his wife Robin K. Appell (McCoy); his children, Emily Vassallo (Anthony) of Sandusky, Benjamin Appell of Sandusky and Kevin Appell (Mackenzie) of Lorain; his grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Savanna, Braden, Aislin, Lola and Owen; and his siblings, Mary Alice McKone of Tempe, AZ, Albert Appell of San Diego, CA and Billy Appell (Susan) of Columbus, OH. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in his name to his family.
