With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Betty L. Thompson of Sandusky, Ohio, born in Castalia, Ohio, who passed away on March 3, 2023 at the age of 98. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Harold Gurtz and Grace Gurtz (Schwochow); her son Timothy J.; her husband Joseph E. Thompson; her stepfather Chester J. Polta; her sisters, Irene Pitzer and Marie Polta; and her brothers-in-law, Robert McDowell and David Ebner.
She is survived by: her children, Frederick J. (Martha), Thomas D. (Jean) and Teresa A. Thompson; her grandsons, Lucas, Kevin (Brittany), Thomas (Erin Nichole) and Nathan Thompson (Rachel Whittaker); her great grandchildren, Teagan and Kniley Thompson; her sisters, Rosemary McDowell and Martha Ebner; her nephews, Leon Pitzer and Rob McDowell; her niece Jan; her close friends, Dick Marko, Nancy Miller, John Rogers, Mary Rose Hayes and Susan Missig; and also, Annee and Andy.
