He was predeceased by: his parents, David Grimes and Nancy Grimes (Thomas). He is survived by: his wife Rebecca Grimes (Starr); his daughters, Meghan Knellinger (Chris) of Old Washington and Molly Johnson (Cale) of Cambridge; his sisters, Dianna Baldwin (Danny) of Cambridge and Julie McEndree of Quaker City; his mother-in-law Linda Starr; and his grandchildren, Zane Knellinger, Maren and Mac Johnson. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and good friends.
