He was predeceased by: his parents, John Schaffer and Pearl Schaffer (Hartman); his son Mark Schaffer; and his siblings, Lois Wright, Catherine "Kitty" Yaniw, Marcella "Mart" Hawkins, Joseph Schaffer, Wilbur "Wib" Schaffer, John Schaffer, Lawrence Felton, Don Felton, Emma Felton, William Graber and Mavis Manning.
He is survived by: his wife Joanne Schaffer (Burkey); his children, Barbara Lawton (David) of Salem and James Schaffer (Janet) of Greenford; his grandchildren, Zachary, Curtis, Travis and Alexis; his great grandchild Russell; and his sisters, Margie Parks of Sebring and Savilla McCabe of Youngstown.
Visitation was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at the Lane Funeral Homes-Canfield Chapel (65 N Broad St, Canfield, OH 44406). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 13th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
