He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward J. McFarland and Bessie McFarland (Eckman); his wife Carol; his son Edward McFarland; and his siblings, Nancy Gurney, Ann Cox, Edward McFarland and Floyd Ruffer.
He is survived by: his children, Helen Cannon (Gilbert) of Naples, FL, Vi Jennings (Ronald) of Salem and James McFarland of Salem. He is also survived by his numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren.
