He was predeceased by: his parents, John Meissner and Pauline Meissner (Baum). He is survived by: his wife Kathrine "Katie"; his children, Joyce Gause (John) of Salem and John of Salem; his grandchildren, Shannon, Liddy and Josh; his great grandchildren, Alan, Xavier and Dominic; and his siblings, Barbara, Alice, Katherine and Joe.
