With profound sadness, we say goodbye to John S. Arter of Salem, Ohio, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. John left this world on November 17, 2024 at the age of 75, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
As John departs from our midst, his spirit ascends to join the cosmic dance of stars, a shimmering constellation of memories that will forever grace the night sky of the hearts of those who loved John. Though John may no longer walk beside us, his legacy lives on — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of time and space.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rollin D. Arter and Bernice J. Arter (Chamberlin). He is survived by: his wife Kathy Arter (Snowberger); his brother Aaron Arter (Danna); and his nephews, Nathan Arter and Seth Arter.
Visitation was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Stark Memorial (1014 E State St, Salem, OH 44460). A funeral service was held on Thursday, November 21st 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, John has requested that donations be made to the United Community Scholarship Foundation Class of 1967, c/o United Local Schools, 8143 state Route 9, Hanoverton, Ohio 44423.
