She was predeceased by: her parents, Darrell Carpenter and Helen Carpenter (Naylor); her husband Barry G. Fowler; and her sister Peggy Israel. She is survived by: her children, Terry Fowler (Terri) of Salem and Tammy Barkley (Fred) of Salem; her brother Richard Carpenter of Beloit; and her grandchildren, Peter Fowler (Mandy), Andrew Fowler (Rekha), Matthew Fowler (Jessica), Sarah Hodgson (Stephen), Marcus Barkley (Alyssa) and Zachary Barkley (Winter). She is also survived by 13 great-grandchildren.
