With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gene Shafer of Salem, Ohio, born in Warren, Ohio, who passed away on September 16, 2020 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Albert Louis Shafer and Mildred Grace Smail Shafer; his sibling Sigma Nu; his wife Ruth Ann Martin Shafer; his great grandchild William Gene Selway; his children, Hal Shafer (Tici) and Carol Shafer Brown; his grandchildren, Matthew (Angie), Katie Newland (Michael), Ann Martyniak (Jamie), Chris Brown (Danielle) and Laura Selway (Josh); and his great grandchildren, Hudson E. Selway, Benjamin E. Shafer, Sophia Catherine and Olivia Kate Newland.
