He was predeceased by: his parents, John W. Metzgar and Lena Metzgar (Cozart). He is survived by: his wife Roselyn Metzgar (Bock); his children, Vickie of Salem and Harold (Penn) of Stow; his grandchildren, Brittaney, Bridgette Bratton (Chris), Benjamin Metzgar (Brooke) and Christian; and his brothers, Ken (Rose Mary) and Gene "Moe" (Christine).
